My darlings, could any readers who are located outside the United States or who will be travelling abroad soon please consider assisting Iris Uber Alles's second grade class? The girls are studying geography, and as a class project, they are writing letters to people in farflung places. They hope to get letters back telling them what it is like to live in those exotic locales.
If you'd like to get a letter from Iris Uber Alles, please send a mailing address to drunkenhousewife@gmail.com. smooches, your old Drunken Housewife
UPDATE: Iris is all set, thank you! However, if someone somewhere ESPECIALLY exotic for a California girl sees this (e.g., Dubai, Singapore, Papua New Guinea, South Africa, etc..), I'm sure she can add you in...

I can write her a letter about what it's like to live in Alabama. Is that foreign enough?
if all else fails, she can write me here in LA. which, i must agree, is like another planet.
I have some old friends from graduate school... One lives in Singapore, and the other in France. I'll forward the link to them and see if I can get them to contribute to the cause.

Up here in the North Bay they're spreading cow manure in the fields, giving the entire area a rustic quaint smell that could be mistaken for another land.
Dear Woman of Science, I will ask! Alabama is probably more foreign to these children than many European locales.
Silliyak, the smell of cow manure always transports me back to my grandparents' dairy farm in rural Maine. Enjoy the eau de Vacationland!
